The Power of Making a Decision

Our power is in our ability to decide — Buckminister Fuller

I attended the morning meditation and prayer services this morning after almost a month. In reality, I should say two or three months, since it has been that long since I was regular about it. I had been *intending* to go for the last three weeks, and despite the fact that I had my alarm set to get up on time, and despite the fact that I had gotten up just before the alarm went off a few times, I hadn’t made it to the community center to attend the services.

Last night, as I lay me down to sleep, I made a decision, I am going to go to the services in the morning. It was not just an intention, it was a firm decision. Lo and behold, I was up 20 minutes before the alarm went off, and I was already in the car when it did go off. (my cell phone is my watch and my alarm clock as well)

As I drove to the community center, at 4 AM, I was reminded of the lectures I used to deliver some twenty years ago to our congregations about how to use visualization to get up and get to the meditation at 4AM. It never failed, that the very next morning someone will approach me after the services all excited that how it worked for them. There is something about a firm decision causes every cell in your being to act in congruence with that decision.

In my last post, I talked about the magic of making a commitment. A commitment is nothing more than a decision, backed by an intense desire and a will to follow through. But, it sets in motion the forces of Universe to do your bidding, to bring about circumstances, that at times, are mind boggling, to say the least.

After making the commitment to attending the workshop in Sedona,AZ, I have seen an influx of unexpected income, both from my regular work, and from sources unexpected. After realizing the power of decision making, I sent out a message to some close friends in my phone book, asking them if they would be interested in earning an extra $1,000 in the next 30 days.

Out of the 30+ messages that I sent, I received two “yes” answers, one “depends”, two “how”, one “I already know how and can do so whenever I want” and one “I’m afraid I’ll have to pass” answer. One person actually called to ask what was that all about.

The plan is to hold a telephone conference, and I am inviting the two *yes* people, one of the *how* people, who responded positively to my response to the how question, and the friend who actually called to learn more about it, to share my experience, and to encourage them to take the “what if failure was not an option” approach to generating extra income in a short period of time through creative thinking and using the existing resources. I fully believe that this will be a successful experiment, with all of them creating reasonable amount of additional income in the next 30 days. I am using this to set a track record, and to fine tune the idea as it is applied by many, and to learn from the experiment, and then offer it to others who are ready and determined to take a small step out of the comfort zone, as a paid service.

I would like to extend the same invitation to my readers to join me in this teleconference. Due to the nature of the task, I will not be able to extend this offer to more than three people. So, it is on a first come first served basis. Send me an email if you are interested.
