Lately, I have been going through another metamorphosis.
I am beginning to understand prosperity as a mindset, as opposed to a lifestyle, or at least the lifestyle promoted by the commercial media as prosperous.
As a matter of fact, I think most of what we see on the popular media as prosperity is based on lack thinking as opposed to prosperity thinking.
Prosperity thinking, as I understand it, means that there is ALWAYS enough in the world to meet everyone’s need and wants. There is never any lack of resources. If there is any lack, it is only perceived lack, and comes a s a result of that perception. That is not to deny that there are people living in this world who are living well below desirable conditions, but it is not because of any lack of resources.
All my life, I’ve always had everything I needed and more. There have been times when I’ve had what I wanted and there were other times when I didn’t have what I wanted, or so I thought. As I look back at my life, I realize that the times when I didn’t have what I wanted were the times I was wanting what others said I should have, not what I wanted.
Prosperity thinking has nothing to do with money. That is not to say that money is not important. It is very important, and essential, to life as it has evolved into today. But money is nothing more, or less than energy. It is the energy of exchange given a form that the society has mutually agreed upon. It is the tool that has evolved, as a medium of exchange, when bartering for products and services became an inefficient and impractical way of conducting trade.
Prosperity is the manifestation of desire to have a better quality of life. And a better quality of life is the one that brings joy and satisfaction.
A couple of weeks ago, I came across an invitation to a workshop that I was interested in. I was surprised that the $397 price tag didn’t phase me, as it would have in the not-so-distant past, and when I calculated all the related expenses, travel, hotel accommodations and the time missed from current work, I knew that I didn’t have the resources to make it to the 2-day workshop in Sedona, AZ. But I wanted to go.
Do not hesitate or waver for fear that when you come to any certain place you will fail for lack of ability. Keep right on, and when you come to that place, the ability will be furnished to you. ~ Wallace D Wattles, Science of Getting Rich
As if right on clue, I came across this wisdom from Barbara Winter.
Begin by refusing to ever, ever use lack of money as an excuse.
I sat down to brainstorm, and wrote down all the ways I can think of to generate an additional $1500 in the next 60 days. As a result, in just the past two weeks, I have earned an additional $600 from opportunities that have appeared out of the thin air. (That’s another post). I know, that not only will I have the funds needed, but more importantly, it has switched my thinking into a prosperity mindset. I have already registered and paid for the workshop. Amazing things happen when you make a commitment.
Let me leave you with this challenge.
What could you do to generate an additional income of $1,000 in next 30 to 60 days, if you absolutely had to?
Let me know in the comments below.

That’s always the magic question, isn’t it?
At this point I know what I could do to make that kind of money in 30 to 60 days. It would involve a heck of a lot of work, but if I had the time I could make it.
Of course, it would be much nicer if I could manifest it easier, but sometimes we take what we can get.
So, are you saying that since you don’t have the time, you probably couldn’t do it?
As for making it easy, commit to an expense of $1,000 in something that is meaningful to you and watch how easy it gets.
I could make the time, but I’d be getting 3 hours of sleep a night. I know this because I did it last summer. I made the money, but at a rate of less than $2.50 an hour, I killed myself getting there. Trust me, that wasn’t easy at all. But I could do it if needed.

I can understand that you wouldn’t want to do the same thing again. But how about doing it differently? How about a creative solution?
