Motion vs Action

I have been generating a lot of motion lately…

… but not producing very much action.

And that’s not anything new.

What IS new is the realization that I am doing so.

Oh sure, I’ve known that before, and it has been brought to my attention before, but that was merely a recognition of the fact, NOT realization.

Recognition is becoming aware of something. Realization is becoming conscious of it.

When you become conscious of something, then it impacts your actions. It guides and motivates your actions.

Motion makes you feel that you are busy doing things. Action produces results that you are working toward.

Motion creates an illusion of work. Action produces work with tangible results.

Have you ever found yourself being busy without anything to show for? Then you have been generating motion without producing action.

So, why do we, so often, generate motion without producing action?

I have found that, it is because we do not have a crystal clear vision of what it is that we want to accomplish, or that we are not committed to the vision, though we may think we are.

Realizing this has forced me into looking at what I am doing. I have come to realize that I, in fact, do not have a crystal clear vision of what it is that I desire. I have a vague idea of what I want and the direction in which I want to go, and I have been moving in that general direction.

But that motion in the general direction has not resulted in productive action due to the lack of clarity of vision.

Earlier this week, I signed up for a two day workshop to held in April, in Sedona, AZ. Barbara Winter will be one of the presenters.

The mere act of commitment to the workshop – and in affect – to myself and my personal development in the area of entrepreneurship, has caused a stir of emotions, that has forced me to evaluate what I am doing and what am capable of.

As a consequence of this disturbance, I have created a tele-class that I will be presenting in early March about how to generate an extra $1,500 in the next 60 days (working out the logistics on the exact date). I am willing to offer you, my readers, a discount. If you are interested, let me know, and I will send you a coupon code when I set up the class. It will be a 60 to 90 minutes class.

The teleclass is designed to stimulate ideas and to create a concrete plan of action that will be personalized for each participant. For this reason, each class will only have a maximum of 6 participants.

I will keep you posted when I have the logistics in place for the first class.
