I Repeat, Ask the Right Question

A friend of mine sent me an excited text of an Aha! moment:

Powerful Questions: How am I interfering with the flow of love/abundance in my life?

I responded:

And what good would it do to find out?

My thinking is, you get more of whatever you focus on. If you’re focusing on the interference, you’ll attract more of it, but I didn’t want to be preachy. She hates it.

Well, she was irritated regardless that I had pissed on her parade, and it was obvious from her reply.

Figure it out. Or don’t, if you prefer.

to which I responded,

And what would one do with that knowledge?

I was trying to get her to see that she was getting the wrong info, because she was asking the wrong question. If you really want the answer, ask the right question. I believe her intention was to remove the obstacles to the flow of love and abundance in her life, and she asked the above question instead of asking “How can I remove the interference to the flow of love/abundance in my life?”

She didn’t respond.

I know she gets mad when I piss on her parade, specially when she is excited, but I would be doing her a disservice if I didn’t. Friends aren’t afraid to piss on their friends’ parades if they are marching in the wrong parade.

So, let me ask you this, what would you have done, if you were faced with the above scenario? How would you have responded to your friend’s original text message? Let me know in the comments below.
