If you think that you’re not so successful, because you have a fear of Ā failure, I am hear to tell you that it’s not true. What you really have is a fear of SUCCESS.
Now, hear me out.
Every creature on this planet, and that includes you and I, are genetically wired to avoid that which we fear. We will also consciously do whatever it takes to avoid things that scares us. The fear mechanism is designed to protect the creature from danger, or in case of humans, what we might perceive to be dangerous.
So, if you think you are afraid of failure, I would suggest that you think again.
What are you REALLY afraid of?
Think again! Think HARD!!

So few people understand that fear of success can be just as crippling as fear of failure – maybe moreso. We’re taught, somewhat, to risk failure. But it’s hard to understand this notion of “fear of success.” I think it’s really fear of change. Fear that if we succeed, others’ expectations will change. Fear that maybe we’re nothing more than a one-trick pony, and won’t be able to REPEAT or sustain “success.”
Thanks again for the wonderful bow and arrow you made for my son, and the doves you made for me.

Holly,
Welcome to Present Day Nomads. It was great meeting you at the Cici’s Pizza.
Yes, fear of failure is real. You are correct in that the fear is what would happen if I succeed? will people still like me? Will my friends and family treat me the same? Will people take advantage of my success? These are all “what if” fears, and they are crippling.
I am heading over to your blog to educate and enlighten myself.
