I just checked my e-mail and there was Seth Godin’s daily blog entry. It was titled, There is always room for Jello. Absolute brilliance, I tell you.
The blog entry is only maybe a total of 150 words, the message comes clear as daylight. “So, if there’s time for an emergency (Jello), why isn’t there time for brilliance, generosity or learning?”
I started thinking about my past life, the one before I fired my boss and freed myself from the bonds of Nine to Five, I realized that I always had time for work and emergencies my boss had, but I had to get permission, no, practically beg and made to feel little, for even taking an hour or two off to attend my daughter’s middle school graduation, or take a day off to attend a personally meaningful event.
Now that I am self employed and Location Independent, I still find myself in the old thinking once in a while, and forget that the key to happiness is to live life on your own terms.
What about you? How do you feel? Are you stuffing in the Jello, but not the cheese cake? You can use the comments section below to share your thoughts.
